The Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) is the traditional system used for the world’s telephone networks operated by telephony operators. It provides infrastructure and services for public telephony. It’s been operational for many decades, however, a switch off has been announced as part of Openreach’s plans and PSTN based services are no longer sold as of September 2023.
The switch off will take place January 31st 2027 (no longer December 2025 as originally planned), meaning PSTN will no longer be operational and instead every phone line in the UK will become digital, in a bid to move to more modern communications. This change will greatly affect many, including our channel partners. Let’s take a look at how our partners can prepare for this disruption.
A new era of digital transformation
As the PSTN switch off approaches, ANS’s channel partners have a great opportunity to leverage digital transformation and embrace the new era of cloud-based telephony. By migrating from legacy phone systems to modern Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) solutions, there is more flexibility, scalability, security, and cost-efficiency. Partners can also provide customers with additional features and benefits, such as video conferencing, call recording, analytics, and integration with other cloud applications.
ANS can help its channel partners navigate this transition smoothly and successfully, by providing them with the best-in-class VoIP solutions and services, as well as comprehensive support and guidance throughout the process.
ANS has extensive experience and expertise in delivering cloud-based telephony solutions to various sectors and industries and can tailor them to the specific needs and requirements of each customer. ANS can also help its channel partners educate their customers about the benefits and advantages of switching to VoIP and address any concerns or challenges they may have.
Looking beyond the switch off
By partnering with ANS, our channel partners can not only prepare for the PSTN switch off, but also seize the opportunity to grow their business and increase their value proposition. They can position themselves as trusted advisors and innovators, who can help their customers transform their communication and collaboration capabilities and stay ahead of the competition whilst also broadening their product portfolio.
They can also enjoy the benefits of working with a leading cloud service provider, who can offer them competitive pricing, attractive incentives, and reliable performance.
ANS is committed to helping its channel partners succeed in the digital age and is ready to support them every step of the way.
