Nottingham Trent University has partnered with cloud and digital service provider, ANS, to modernise its IT environment by migrating to the Microsoft Azure public cloud in order to build the foundations to execute their 2025 digital strategy.
The university is pushing forward on its cloud first strategy which will help to modernise its current IT environment and pave the way for more innovative projects.
Following a cloud plan and design carried out by ANS, the university was able to identify which areas of its IT infrastructure could be migrated to the cloud to increase efficiency, accessibility and improve user-experience for both staff and students.
By moving to the cloud, the university hopes to consolidate its data centres, moving as many on-premises applications to the cloud as possible, saving on resources and releasing its IT team to work on added-value university projects.

As a large university with almost 32,000 students, NTU has achieved a number of outstanding accolades including being named University of the year by the Guardian in 2019.
