Higher Education Round table

Wednesday 24th November 2021
The Ivy Bar, Manchester

Join ANS & Microsoft for the Higher Education Round table on 24.11.2021 at 18:00 -21:00

Universities are under more pressure than ever before to ensure the safety and privacy of students and staff from wherever they’re learning and working, whether that’s on-campus or at home. This has compounded the complexity of security and privacy management for university IT teams.

Now, more than ever, universities must keep everyone secure as they’re working and learning from a range of different locations. Since many are on personal devices and distributed networks that have varying levels of protection and security, these endpoints and devices are becoming new targets for malicious attacks, meaning the need to identify and prevent threats has never been more important.

To address this topic, we’re hosting a Higher Education Security-focused roundtable on the 24th November at 6pm. Led by ANS’ Practice Lead for Connectivity and Security, Mark Johnson, you’ll be given the opportunity to network with peers in your sector as we invite you to reflect and discuss your experiences, challenges, and predictions around the security landscape in the sector.

During this roundtable, we would also like to open the floor and invite you to share your thoughts on the following topics:

  • What security practices you currently have in place and the impact remote working is having on your universities security landscape
  • Your previous experiences of dealing with threats and attacks and lessons you’ve learnt
  • How can Higher Education organisations protect university, staff and students from increasingly sophisticated cyber attacks
  • How to make informed security decisions at a leadership level
  • How to resource/ manage staff for modern security practises
  • How to keep COVID research secure

To secure your place today, register via the form on the right.
