Version 17=<¶
Following on from Plesk Version 12.5, to improve security, Plesk removed the ability to retrieve the password for the control panel in plain text. The new method implemented provides you with a one time login link that will let you access Plesk without the password.
plesk login
The above command generated the one-time login link however once logged in, you will not be able to reset the password. There is a separate command for resetting the password via SSH below.
plesk bin admin --set-admin-password -passwd "**********"
Note
Bear in mind you are resetting your password using a shell command, so we recommend avoiding using special characters like &
or $
which the shell might try to interpret! If you want to have these characters in your password you can always change it again in the Plesk panel once you’re able to log in.
